Independent promoter Shoeshine Boy Productions have been grinding away for 14 years, curating great rock shows in lots of rooms all over Chicago. We’ve been working with them for a long time, and we’re proud to be hosting their 14 year anniversary party featuring Big Paraid, The Ivorys, Verona Red, Out of Hours, and Upsin Hounds. This is a stellar lineup.
If you haven’t been to a Big Paraid show yet, you need to go to this one. Tightly written garage-rock tunes, big hair, confetti, marching band cheerleaders…They’re the real deal.Big Paraid - “Walk In Place”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67_CYO5j_L4

The CumbiaSazo party is back from hibernation and ready to bring hip-friendly heat to the dance floor! The summer season kicks off Saturday, March 29th, at the legendary Double Door (on 2 floors!) where we’ll be connecting the dots between vintage & electronic rhythms of Latin America and celebrating C-C-C-Cuuuumbia alongside other worldly & bass-heavy music of the peoples. Friends old and new are welcome. Get down and support artists & communities doing what they do in a spirit of identity & joy through music. Known as “Colombian darling” and “Soundsister”, Lido Pimienta jumps back and forth from electronic beats, analog synths and Afro-Colombian rhythms to out-of-this-world chanting.“Picture Bjork if she grew up in Baranquilla,” says Sergio Elmir of Dos Mundos.

Just announced and on sale now - Barenaked Men! This is a last-minute show, replacing the postponed PJ Morton show, which is now on 5/30. As far as last-minute bookings go, we’re pretty sure we nailed this one.

We’re teaming up with Riot Fest to bring Jessica Hernandez and The Deltas to our stage! Their Demons EP has a sound that only a life growing up in Detroit could create: Gritty, bluesy, soulful, and mysterious. We’re psyched.Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas – Demons

Best tour poster ever? Artist Rick Smutley accurately captures the anticipation and subesquent joy of seeing a killer metal show, as illustrated by bacon. We’re very much looking forward to this show tonight.

The Sword, Big Business, and O’Brother will be here tomorrow night, and we’re not gonna lie to you, it’s going to be really loud. There will be shredding. There will be headbanging. There will be denim, beards, tears in beards, maybe even some hot sauce in beards if said bearded Sword fans get tacos beforehand. We’re psyched about this bill, and we just wanted to post a friendly reminder that tickets are running very low! Don’t wait!

The Sword – Apocryphon

Big Business – The Real

O’Brother – Disillusion

We discovered folky pop rock duo Daniel and The Lion at SXSW last year, and we haven’t stopped listening since. These prolific songsmiths have cranked out three EPs in under two years, and seem to be constantly working on new music when they aren’t self-booking their own tours. Ironically, their name made the rounds in the blogosphere after posting a sublime cover video of Bon Iver’s “Holocene.” We recommend starting with their Death Head EP and going from there. We predict big things to come for these guys, and we’re stoked to have them here on May 6 with Squirrel Shaped Fish, Bennett, and The Flock.Daniel and the Lion – Death Head
